About

My name is Lori, and I am wife to an amazing man and mama to an incredible two year old boy.  I am a Bible-believing Christian and seek to live out God’s plan for me on a daily basis.

My purpose here at Encouraging Nourishment is to provide a resource for friends, family, and any others who are interested in learning some of the knowledge and skills that I have attained over the past years regarding cooking and nutrition.  This amounts to a small hill of beans, compared to what’s left to learn!

My family follows the principles of Traditional Nutrition as much as we can. This, of course, is often limited by time, budget, or other factors, but we try to do our best.

I am not a medical doctor.  If I make statements about how a food or an herb may help with some ailment or such, do take responsibility, research it yourself, and make your own conclusions.  The information contained herein is not intended as medical advice, but is meant to motivate and inspire.

  1. Awesome blog! I look forward to gleaning from your pearls of wisdom. 🙂

  2. I just found your blog, and am encouraged already.
I noticed you admit when you mess up, or aren’t eating very ‘nourishingly’. I find that refreshing. Makes me feel less guilty….Its so easy for us women to get that superwoman complex going, working full time outside the home and taking on the amazing full time duty of nourishing our families is hard work. Thank you for being candid. I look forward to following your blog.

    • Thanks for the great comment! My attitude towards this is to NOT sweat less-than-perfection, because our diet, overall, is so much better than it used to be! And, to me, nourishment is more about “adding” to our overall health instead of a stern list of do’s and don’ts.

  3. You very talented and pretty! I love you! 🙂 😉
